    Hello,

Do any of you have established “cuddler” programs for NAS infants?  If so, could you please send me your requirements and training information?  We are currently looking as establishing this program at our facility, and would like to see what other hospitals are doing.  My email is jhamrick@catawbavalleymc.org

    Thanks!

I would like to know if your hospital performs drug tests on your new volunteers? If so, what is the cost and what are they testing for?  For example, do they test for any drugs such as Ritalin and prescription drugs or just illegal drugs?

    Hi All,

Does your hospital/organization work with episodic volunteers?  Volunteers who don't have regular schedules, but come in periodically to help with special projects, community events, one-time projects, etc.

What hospital mandatories are they required to complete?

Are they only allowed to work in certain areas (i.e. no patient contact duties) or assist with certain projects?

    Thanks

What are visitation hours in your ICU?  Please share any policies, brochures, etc. you may have.

Has your Patient Family Advisory Council explored ICU visitation?  If so, I’d love to know outcome.

Do any of your facilities utilize volunteers in a discharge holding unit during high census times? (This normally occurs when attempting to free up patient rooms when a patient may not currently have a ride home.) If so, will you please share your details/position descriptions/concerns/feedback with me? If you have a holding unit, is it also monitored with any paid clinical staff (CNA, etc.). Any feedback would be appreciated!

Do any of your hospitals offer hair care services for your patients? If so, what type of services and what is your process to know who, what, etc. would like to have this service?  Are there any special requirements to be able to offer this in North Carolina?
